Honeywell 50101 Air Purifier Review

The Honeywell 50101 air purifier is a model which is suitable for small to medium-sized rooms up to 150 square feet or around 12 by 12 feet. For the price it does a lot of air cleaning!

It has a two stage filtering process using a carbon pre-filter and a true HEPA filter which captures airborne particles down to 0.3 microns such as dust, cat dander, tobacco smoke, pollen and mold spores.

It also has a filter change calendar to remind you when to change the HEPA filter.

It has a patented 360 degree air intake and discharge system. The air is taken in at the bottom of the unit and discharged at the top but in a 360″ circle which allows excellent circulation of the purified air around the room.

It’s also has SurroundSeal HEPA filter technology. This means that is has a special seal which prevents leakage and ensures that all the air taken into the unit passes through the HEPA filter.

Honeywell 16200 Air Purifier Review

The Honeywell 16200 air purifier is a true economy model. It’s a compact desktop model which is suitable for small rooms of up to eighty square feet such as a bedroom, an office or a small kitchen. At present, it’s a bargain at under $50 at Amazon. It can be put on a table or on the floor and can be placed horizontally or vertically to save space.

It’s also pretty handy if you want to take an air purifier with you when you travel.

It has a four-stage cleaning process comprising a washable pre-filter, a HEPA-type filter,a carbon filter to absorb household odors and an ionizer.

 If all you need is a basic economy model, this model can’t be beat on the price. Since it has only a HEPA-type filter, it will not be as efficient at removing the smaller particles down to 0.3 microns as a true HEPA filter.  However, you’d have to go up in price to get a true HEPA filter. It does a better job than the Honeywel HHT-011 whose HEPA-type filter only captures 95% of particles.

Honeywell QuietCare 17000-N Air Purifier

The Honeywell QuietCare 17000-N air purifier is a white portable model with a handle on top which has a permanent true HEPA filter and a carbon pre-filter. The HEPA filter captures 99.97% of common household airborne particles such as dust, cat dander, tobacco smoke and mold spores. The HEPA filter can be vacuumed and has a life of one to three years.

This model has QuietCare which is a sound-reducing technology to give quiet performance and also SurroundSeal technology which helps reduce air leaks around the filter to ensure that all the air passes through the filter.

It has a soft-touch control panel with a three speed fan and is good for rooms up to 200 square feet (14 feet by 14 feet).

This model is very reasonably priced for an air purifier with a true HEPA filter and effective for medium sized rooms. If you want an economy model which is effective with dust and allergens, this could well suit you. But if you want something to remove gaseous pollutants and volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde, then you need to look at other models with more than just a HEPA filter.

The Honeywell HHT-011 Compact Air Purifier is a table-top air purifier. It can be placed horizontally or vertically – so you’ll always find somewhere suitable to put it even in the smallest room. This model is ideal for small rooms such as small bedrooms, the nursery, kitchen or office. It’s suitable for rooms up to 85 square feet.

It has a permanent HEPA-type filter which can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and a washable pre-filter. The filter captures up to 95% of airborne particles down to 2 microns in size including mold spores, pollen, pet dander, smoke and dust.

If you want a quiet air purifier, the Honeywell 18155 is definitely one to consider.  Its  advanced air flow design makes for ultra quiet and high speed operation. It has true HEPA filtler which is permanent and easy to clean with a vacuum. It’s also very reasonably priced.

The Honeywell HFD-120-Q QuietClean Tower Air Purifier has a three stage cleaning process which is suitable for a small to medium sized room. It’s a great product for those with allergies, sinus problems or asthma who want to remove the pollens, cat dander or dust in general. Most reviewers notice the difference in the air shortly after starting to use it and are very happy with the unit.
