Air Purifier Reviews
Post date: September 2nd, 2011
Hi! I’m Jeremy Johnson. My purpose with this Air Purifier Reviews website is to help people with the overwhelming task of choosing the right air purifier for their needs. I will be writing specific articles about how to choose the best air purifier for particular groups of people such as allergy sufferers.
I aim to provide as much factual information as I can about each air purifier that I review as well as incorporating customers’ feedback about the product.
As one person, I obviously cannot buy every air purifier and, in any case, my own reaction to it would only be one person’s opinion.
So, as far as the facts go, I collect the objective facts from the following sources:
- The manufacturer’s website and manual
- The Clean Air Delivery Rate website at www.cadr.org which is maintained by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers(www.aham.org)
- The Energy Star website (www.energystar.gov) which is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. An air purifier which has earned the Energy Star meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set down by the EPA and US Department of Energy.
My main source for customer reviews is Amazon.com since it has the most customer reviews. Amongst other sites where I have found contain useful information are:
All my air purifier reviews cover the areas that most people are interested in:
- The type of filter
- The number of fan speeds
- The coverage area i.e. the size of room the air purifier is suitable for
- The Clean Air Delivery Rate
- Any features the models has
- Noise level
- Dimensions
- Customer Reviews
- Pros and Cons
Air Purifier Reviews Gives Pros And Cons
The pros and cons of each air purifier have been assessed from the feedback of customers. I think it’s vital to include the feedback of customers because the manufacturer’s descriptions are sometimes a little misleading. One area in which they can be a little misleading is in the name of a particular model.
For example, a particular manufacturer may use the word “silent” in the name when the model is in no way silent. One of the quietest air purifiers is the Sharp Plasmacluster FP-P60CX which claims a level of 15 decibels on the low setting. This is very quiet – almost at whispering level. However, this is exceptional: a lot of models produce more than 30 decibels on the lowest setting. The word “silent” in normal usage would refer to zero decibels.
Air Purifier Reviews Is Impartial
I have been completely impartial in my reviews since I have no vested interest in any particular model or manufacturer. I encourage readers who have personally used any of the air purifiers to give their feedback in the comments section underneath my review.
I hope that you find my air purifier reviews are helpful to you in choosing the best model for your needs.
